Duralite industrial glazed rooflight

Product development: Duralite industrial glazed rooflight

The green standard for industrial roofs!

Brakel is shortly to launch a glazed industrial rooflight on the market, which is set to become the current and future standard rooflight for industrial buildings. This standard rooflight, which has a gradient of fifteen degrees, is the green alternative to synthetic rooflights. The Duralite is favourably priced, extremely easy to fit, and can be supplied complete with glass within ten working days.

When it comes to the use of industrial rooflights for new construction and renovation projects, one has the choice of either synthetic or glass. In a world where the demand for eco-friendly products is continually increasing, it also makes more sense to opt for glass. After all, glass has a useful life at least twice as long, while it offers excellent resistance to the elements (hail and wind), prevents noise nuisance and performs considerably better and consistently in terms of daylight ingress, insulation and comfort throughout the life span of the rooflight.

Furthermore, in terms of the total cost of ownership, the Duralite has an earnback period of seven years in relation to the curved synthetic rooflights widely used previously. The Duralite also takes precedence in the area of sustainability.

Standard: Saddle roof with a 15º gradient
In response to market demand for more eco-friendly products, Brakel developed the entirely thermally insulated saddle roof with a gradient of 15º. This glazed roof was specially developed for industrial applications, while it also makes for highly convenient installation. The Duralite glazed rooflight is available in a range of standard clear widths, with a fixed centre to centre measurement, sandwich panel bulkheads, and untreated aluminium. The double glazing is supplied as standard in HR++ with two layers of safety foil applied, in clear or matt glass, and with a U-value 1.3.

Furthermore, hinged windows, approved in accordance with EN12101-2, can be seamlessly integrated in the system in an aesthetically pleasing manner, for smoke & heat extraction and ventilation purposes.

Fall protection
An additional benefit of the Duralite system is that it is compliant with fall protection standards (SB300). This saves both time and money, which would otherwise have to be spent on implementing additional measures. The system is supplied in kit form, complete with double glazing and an instruction manual.
