Pre.Ge.Co. Italy
Pre.Ge.Co – member of the RDB Group, de largest Italian Holding in concrete buildings - is a manufacturer of prefabricated concrete roof constructions. Recently Pre.Ge.Co was involved in two projects in which smoke and heat ventilation was required. The ventilators that had to be integrated in the roofs of the buildings had to be tailor-made. Pre.Ge.Co asked the Italian company Plastitalia 2000 to take care of these fire safety systems. Mr. Boverio, owner of Plastitalia 2000, asked Brakel to assist him in these projects. In this article he tells us about these projects and the cooperation between Brakel and Plastitalia.
The buildings concerned – in which two large warehouses of the important food distribution company COOP will be located - have a surface of 55.000 square meter and a height of 12.5 meter. One is situated in Prato (about 15 km from Florence) and one in Trento (100 km north of Verona).
695 tailor-made Eura’s
“The COOP’s engineering department requested a smoke and heat ventilation system consisting of louvers”, says Mr. Boverio. “Pre.Ge.Co asked us to develop a tailor-made system with a special flange and the required louvers. Brakel helped us win the project. The assistance we got from Brakel was of utmost importance. One of our Brakel contacts specially came to Verona to take exact measurements so that the ventilator type Eura would fit precisely”, continues Mr. Boverio. In total Brakel supplied 695 translucent Eura ventilators for the two projects.
“We like to work with Brakel products because we are partners and we know that Brakel satisfies our final client in terms of punctual delivery times and correct technical details. Our client is fully satisfied. This resulted in an additional order/project for us involving 250 Eura ventilators”, according to Mr. Boverio.

“We like working with Brakel, it is a large company with a professional technical department that can solve a lot of problems.” Mr. Boverio informs us that he thinks that Brakel has a large high quality product range and is very innovative. In his opinion the Italian market is not yet ready for all of these products. However, because of the Brakel products that meet all fire safety regulations, Plastitalia 2000 will be ready for the future leadership in the fire safety market. |
