The NAN Award has been presented annually in Spain since 2007. This major prize is designed both to promote and reward Spanish companies’ endeavours in the field of innovation. The NAN Award is presented to the ‘best building materials’ in 11 categories. At the beginning of December 2010, thirty companies vied for the award in the category windows, doors & frames. Among the products shortlisted for the finals were the Lumera manufactured by Brakel partner Tecresa Proteccion Passiva, Hörmann overhead doors, and Velux skylights.
The considerable acclaim that Tecresa has already received for good design and the application of new solutions, can be largely attributed to its involvement in the Palacio de Communicaciones project in Madrid, where it used structurally glazed Lumera cantilever windows for smoke & heat extraction. Tecresa integrated these aesthetic fire safety systems in the glazed roof of this prestigious municipal government building. A previous newsletter carried an item on this project. |
