Fire safety contract Basis for trade mission
Our partner, BSH Klima Polska, has been awarded the contract for the provision of the smoke & heat extraction system in the new prestigious Wroclaw Airport, which is located in the heart of Central Europe. Tailor-made solutions, certification and confidence were all determining factors in the decision to award the contract. The project was also the basis for a trade mission by Brakel and BSH, comprising meetings which focused sharply on safety and regulations.
Wroclaw Airport On the basis of the latest legislation and technical possibilities, BSH recommended a smoke & heat extraction system comprising 102 bottom-hung Ventria windows. The windows specially developed for this project are trapezium-shaped, two-tone models with a semi-concealed operating system. The combination of this tailor-made solution and the fact that the system complies with the most important criterion – EN12101-2 certification – ensured that BSH was ultimately able to secure this highly sought-after contract.
102 bottom-hung Ventria windows Tests performed by IFT Rosenheim revealed that the thermally insulated Ventria TG window featuring integrated 8-12-4.4.2 glazing has a thermal conductivity coefficient of Udff = 1.7 W/(m².K) in accordance with DIN 52619-T01-(A). Other test data: - Air permeability: DIN EN 1026 to 600 Pa. - Watertightness: DIN EN 1027 to 1050 Pa - Wind load: DIN EN 12211 from -1600 to +2000 Pa In addition, the system withstood a safety test load of 3000 Pa without showing any visible sign of damage.
Task Force Euro 2012 trade mission Regulations played a highly significant role in talks held during the Task Force Euro 2012 trade mission to Poland, from 4 to 7 October 2010. Poland and the Ukraine are scheduled to host the European Football Championship in 2012, and a great deal of work remains to be done in the area of infrastructure (airports, stadiums, etc.). Some 25 billion euros is to be invested, primarily in the two Polish cities where the final matches are to be held, namely Wroclaw and Poznan. This offered considerable business opportunities for BSH and Brakel therefore…
During the trade mission, substantial attention was devoted to the legislation applicable in the field of smoke & heat extraction and natural ventilation. It transpired that although Polish firms are familiar with said legislation, they do not always possess up-to-date knowledge in this field. BSH’s objective: Fire-safe buildings in both the industrial and civil sectors. |
